28 Mayıs’tan itibaren Türkiye’de yaşadıklarımızla kendimizi farklı bir algının içinde bulduk. Bu algıyı nasıl dönüştürebiliriz?
Bizler, kamu teşebbüslerinin, doğal kaynakların, orman arazilerinin, denizlerin sermayeye pazarlanmasına, HES projeleri, nükleer ve termik santrallerle ekosistemin katledilmesine, toprağın köylünün elinden alınmasına tanık olduk.
Pervasızca yaratılan delillerle bu ülkenin düşünen, üreten insanlarının, aydınlarının, sanatçılarının, öğrencilerinin, gazetecilerinin hapse tıkıldığına, akıl almaz suçlamalarla yargılandığına, hukukun adalete değil, iktidara hizmet ettiğine tanık olduk. Cezaevlerinde katliamlara tanık olduk. Uğur Kaymaz’ın, Ceylan Önkol’un, Xazal Berü’nün, Canan Saldık’ın ve daha yüzlerce Kürt çocuğun katledilmesine tanık olduk. Roboski katliamına tanık olduk. Reyhanlı katliamına tanık olduk. Emperyalizmin güdümünde bir ülkenin savaşa sürüklenmesine tanık olduk.
Açlığa, işsizliğe, işçi cinayetlerine, “namus” adı altında işlenen kadın cinayetlerine tanık olduk. N.Ç.’nin, Ö.C.’nin ve daha nicelerinin utanç davalarına tanık olduk. Parasız eğitim istediği için yıllarca hapis yatan öğrencilere karşılık, “tecavüz yarım kaldığı” için tahliye olan kamu görevlilerine tanık olduk.
Kültür-sanat kurumlarının yıkılmasına, tasfiye edilmesine, sahne ve salonların kapatılmasına, oyunların, kitapların sansürlenmesine tanık olduk. Madımak’ta 35 aydın ve sanatçımızın diri diri yakılmasına tanık olduk. Bedenimiz, aklımız, yaşantımız, inançlarımız üzerine kurulmak istenen tahakküme tanık olduk.
Biz 11 yılda bir korku imparatorluğunun kurulup serpilmesine tanık olduk. Can güvenliğinden sorumlu polisin, yeşiline sahip çıkmak isteyenlere uykularında, sinsice saldırdığına tanık olduk. Tüm bu yaşananlar karşısında medyanın sustuğuna, susmak istemeyenlerin susturulduğuna tanık olduk.
Ve nihayetinde bir ülkenin başbakanının kendi halkına savaş açtığına tanık olduk.
Bugün gelinen nokta “üç beş ağaç”ın çok ötesinde, bu tanıklığın sonucudur. Biz artık tanık olmak istemediğimiz için, bu tahakküme boyun eğmediğimiz için sokaklara çıktık.
Sanatın birleştirici, ilerici ve özgürleştirici karakteriyle mücadeleyi daha ileri taşımak; emekten ve özgürlükten yana bir sanata alan açmak istiyoruz. Sanatı sermaye eliyle kurumsallaştıran, bu kurumsallaşmanın taşıdığı hiyerarşik yapıdan uzak, sermaye ile bağlarını koparmış ve sanatı salt bir temsil nesnesi ve meta olmanın ötesine taşıyan bir anlayışla üretmeyi hedefliyoruz.
Açıkalan Sanat Kolektifi (ASK) olarak eylül ayında Nâzım Hikmet Kültür Merkezi’nde düzenleyeceğimiz sergi ve atölyelerde ortak bir dil ve mücadele alanı oluşturmak istiyoruz. Eylül ayının ilk üç haftasını kapsayacak etkinlikte, direnci artıran, kolektiviteyi besleyen üretimlerle, benzer kaygıları taşıyan ve sanatın olanaklarıyla ifade arayan siz dostlarımızla birlikte çalışmak istiyoruz. Sadece sergi aşamasında değil, serginin üretim sürecinde de konuşmak, tartışmak, kısacası beraber yol almak istiyoruz.
Call for a Collaboration
Since May 28th we found ourselves in a very different kind of an atmosphere in Turkey. How can we manage to transform such an experience?
We have witnessed, the sales of public enterprises, natural sources, forestry lands’ and seas to capital groups, destructions over the eco-system with various HES projects (Hydroelectric power plant projects) Nuclear and Thermal Power Plants, and the bereavement of the land which belonged the peasants.
We witnessed the planting of evidences , when the thinkers, intellectuals, creative and productive individuals, artists, journalists, and students were being adjudged with numerous inconcievable crimes, put in prison for no reason; and the law serving its favors to the rulers and not to the justice. We have witnessed massacres in prison cells. We witnessed the death of Uğur Kaymaz, Ceylan Önkol, Xazal Beru, Canan Saldık and the murders of many other Kurdish children. We have witnessed the mass murder in Roboski. The massacre in Reyhanlı. We have witnessed the country’s being drawn to a war under the command of imperialism.
We have witnessed hunger, unemployment, murders of workers and women under the disguise of “honor killings”. We witnessed the shameful trials of N.Ç., Ö.Ç and many others. We witnessed the students doing time in prisons because they demanded an education free of charge ; and in contrast to that we witnessed the release of public officials’ because the rape was “not yet finished.”
We witnessed the destruction of cultural and artistic foundations, their being sold out, the venues’ and stages being closed down, the plays’ and books’ being censored. We witnessed the 35 artists and intellectuals in Madımak burned alive. We have witnessed the tyranny over our bodies, minds, lives and beliefs.
We have witnessed the building and the broadening of an empire of fear. We witnessed the police force; responsible for the safety of the civilians; attacking the public who just claims their rights on the green lands of the city, while they were asleep at night. We witnessed the media remaining silent, or being silenced if they were unwilling to do so.
Finally, we witnessed a president’s declaration of a war against its own people.
Today, what we see is beyond “two or three trees”; it is the result of what we witnessed. We don’t want to remain as being witnesses no more, we go out to the streets so that we will not be submitted to such a tyranny anymore.
With arts’ unifying, freeing and enlightening character we want to move this struggle further and open a new space for an art form that supports the labour and freedom. We aim to produce art works that are not bonded to or sponsored by capital groups, that is not institutionalized , hierchical, that is free from the strains that connects it to the market; freeing art from its representational character to a status beyond merchandising.
As ASK (Acikalan Art Collective), this September, we want to organize a group exhibition and a series of workshops that has a mutual language and a mutual platform .We want to work with you, our friends, who share our concerns, who has the ideas of collectivity in their minds, who multiplies our resistance, who searches for a chance to express themeselves through art works in an event in the first three weeks of September. We want to discuss, correspond and collaborate through the pre-production of the event, not only through the organization.
